For many years a graphic designer and even more years an artist experimenting
with painting, sculpture, mosaic and photography. Advances in computer
technology have resulted in the combination of these artistic media through the
infinitely versatile medium of digital art software.
A life-long love of art, from the first cave paintings to present day but with a
special interest in the disturbing beauty of the images created in ancient
Mexico and Central America. The Aztecs and the Maya - their ancestors and
contemporaries the Toltecs, Zapotecs, Mixtecs and Olmecs and many far older
cultures. Ancient civilizations each with a unique artistic style but with
threads linking to each other and to a distant past. This fascination for
ancient Mesoamerican art has taken me to Mexico several times. These images of
ancient art which I have created are a personal interpretation and are not
intended to represent an archaeological reconstruction though I have attempted
to remain true to the original work whenever possible.
