Coatilcue
The mother of Huitzilopochtli, murdered by her daughter Coyolxauhqui, the
decapitated figure is given a face formed by the two serpents representing
flowing blood. She wears a skirt of writhing serpents and a necklace of hearts
and hands with a skull pendant.
